Filters
What is the purpose of the KG1 filters inside TruFade?
KG1 filters remove the near infra red thermal energy from the light source – the xenon lamp.
The heat is absorbed by the filter.
Seven filters are required for TruFade – these are held in the borosilicate cylinder.
The filters need replacing after 500 hours.
New Filters
During the first few hours of use, the light spectrum of the KG1 filters may alter.
We recommend that all new filters undergo a period of adjustment to ensure that the properties will not change during the testing period.
James Heal recommend running TruFade containing the new filters for a period of 24 hours, with an irradiance of 48W/m2 at 60°C.
